Wish list Wednesday

Hello my loves,

I hope you are all well. It's my birthday on Saturday so I'm going to be doing some major partaying :)

Today's post is about a site I found through twitter and they have some really lovely jewellery. I've put together a little (well it's never little with me really is it? haha)

I'm obsessed with jewellery, I love quirky necklaces because I think they can jazz up a boring plain outfit. Anyhow, I'm going to  keep it short and sweet and just add the pictures. The site is called Kukee and it seems really reasonable for prices and postage  and package.

There we have it, what are your favourite sites for jewellery shopping?

Manic Panic Vs Directions

Hello my loves,

Long time no speak, I know I've been off the radar and I hope you've missed me as I've missed y'all. I just wanted to let  you all  know that I have a blog lovin' account and you can follow me on by clicking here

So as you all know (if you don't then feel free to peruse my blog) I love having coloured hair that you can't really get from box dyes. I had brown hair for a few months and I had some turquoise underneath for a nice pop of colour that wasn't too in your face and I loved it but I needed a change, I got a box of my trusty colour b4 and stripped it out, the turquoise didn't lift enough so I used the vitamin c trick. After that I decided to have my hair cut quite short because it was kinda frazzled and I wanted to give it some tlc, poor love.

I had L'Oreal Castings in Chocolate and Directions turqouis underneith, I loved the end result.

I decided after this that I wanted to go red and we all know that finding that perfect red is an absolute nightmare, so I chose the olia 6.6 intense red, I knew it wouldn't be quite so intense because it had to cover the remaining turquoise and brown. It wasn't what I wanted if I'm honest. Wracking my brains, I decided that I didn't want to use a tub of directions and researched reds by manic panic. I came across "Vampire Red" and I loved all of the pictures that I had seen so I set off to town to buy it, I will warn you manic panic here in the UK is quite expensive at £10.99 a little tub, but that little tub goes a long long way, believe me when I say that. So once I'd purchased the dye I came home to put it on, funny little thing happened (well it's not funny really) I always stand at the top of the stairs to dye my hair because there is a banister for me to stand the dye on, well the little pots get really slippy when you have gloves and this is what happened... I wasnt even bothered that my carpets were ruined, I was bothered that I'd wasted my dye, it's not ruddy cheap haha.

So back to Manic Panic vs Directions
Although you get more for your money with manic panic and the dye is much better and personally looked great on my hair, the fade isn't as good. Right now my hair is back to being dull again and that's not OK because it's really expensive, with directions dyes they always kept a nice shine and if I'm totally honest it only faded when I faded it  myself.

I give the colour pay off to them both a 10/10
I give directions the lasting (now I can't say this will be same for everyone because everyone's hair is different) power I would give a 10 and manic panic a 5 maybe, this might just be me and I can only give my own true opinion.

In terms of value for money I do not believe Manic Panic is but the colour really did look amazing and I got so many compliments, a man even asked if it was my natural hair :s I'm not saying I won't repurchase because I definitely will, I definitely think I've found my perfect red.

The winner does have to be Manic Panic though, despite all the cons, the pro is that the colour pay off is amazing just wins. I  wish it lasted longer, I don't wash my hair everyday either. The colours of the directions ones were lovely but I preferred them when I had used the vitamin c and got a lovely pink and a pastel purple.

If you live in Sheffield or close by and have access to Meadowhall then you can get Manic Panic from the Lanes in Cleopatra for £9.99

The "Vampire Red" by Manic Panic

So that's that, Have you tried Manic Panic?

New job wishlist

Hello my loves,

I hope you're all doing well, the snow is back YAY, (said with complete sarcasm)  I love snow but I do believe we've seen enough now. Sheffield has been hammered with it, not cool.

On with today's post, I've been without the Internet for a few weeks but I have mentioned on twitter that I am hopefully starting a  new job on Monday the 18th Feb and I'm quite excited, I'm just waiting on confirmation. Anyway, as a girl who likes to shop I've pretty much spent my wages already,  oh dear haha. I've put together a wish list of things I would really like once I am earning.

Here it is, a lot of it is pink and I won't apologise for that either, I am a girly girl after all haha.

The first bit of the wish list is technology, I'm not the biggest fan of technology but I think these are things I need, that's what I have told myself anyhow.
1. Kindle fire HD ~ I want a kindle because I have a ton of books and sometimes it can be so annoying carrying around a book in your handbag. This can  fit in my bag nicely, play movies through lovefilm and do everything I need it to.
2. iPhone 5 ~  This isn't me giving into the hype, ok well it is but I actually do need a  new phone, the sound on my phone is broken and  I can't upgrade for another year so  it would be really nice to have a shiny new one.
3. iPad mini ~ this is definitely not needed, I just want to copy everyone else. It's a wish list and I would love one.
4. A big TV ~ last year I bought myself a new TV, I picked the wrong one thinking it was bigger than it actually was, this isn't essential but again, it's a wish list.
5. Xbox ~ I would love to have one of these bad boys, I'm a closeted gamer waiting to get out.
6. Wii ~ I think I'm just being greedy, but I love the wii.

So, these are things that I would  love and maybe will one day get but the real reason for this wish list is change, I'm planning big change this year, I really want a new house or flat here's the second part of my wish list.

1. A new sofa ~ mine is on it's way out, the springs are knackered so I am really wanting a new one. This one is from DFS.
2. A pink house ~ No, I do not want  a pink house or flat I just thought the picture was really cute.
3. A smeg fridge ~ my dad always wanted one of these and they are cool. Yes it's pink.
4. A bed with built in storage ~ At the moment I live in a three bedroom  house,  I've lived here most of life and took it on when my dad died, now I'm ready to move on but I have to fit a three bedroom house into a bedroom flat or house, so I will need all of the storage I can get.

And lastly,  I need a holiday. I haven't left the country since 2009 and I need to get away even if it's just a long weekend.

So there we have it, a very expensive wish list one can but dream.

Peace out

50 shades of me

Hello my cupcakes,

I hope you're all well. The ruddy snow is back which has stopped the busses in Sheffield so I can't go into town to an interviewy thing that I had to do so I thought I would do this 50 random things about me tag, I like talking about myself because everyday is all about me. Haha, that was a bit narcissistic, oh dear, I'm not really like that. Anyhow, welcome to moi  and my loves and hates.

1. I have no sense of smell, no matter how much you stick your wrist in my face and tell me I will be able to smell it I won't.
2. A few years ago I was rushed into hospital with suspected appendicitis, they couldn't confirm it was appendicitis but they did surgery and removed my appendix anyway.
3. I live alone with my cat in the house that I've lived in since 1993
4. I'm impulsive, I get an idea in my head and it won't go away until I've done or bought it.
5. One of my fav actresses is Goldie Hawn, for all you young people out there that's Kate hudsons mum. Still don't know who I'm talking about? Google her.
6. I love to watch films that have gone straight to DVD, in my mind it could be undescovered talent.
7. I've got a thing for tall men
8. I did a hairdressing course and am trying to decide if I wanna go back in September.
9. I am still best friends with my best friend that I met when I moved here in 1993.
10. I used to be married
11. I have tomato sauce on everything, pasta, taters, beans the list is endless.
12. I love Chinese food.
13. Unlucky for some haha. A motto I'm trying (and failing at sometimes) to live by is "it can't rain all the time" the sun will eventually come out and then things will look brighter.
14. It freaks me out when all of the light switches are not in a row, I will run to the top of the stairs to switch the light off so that they are all together.
15. It freaks me out when sticky things stick to me!
16. I have been single for two years after a failed marriage. Kinda anxious about meeting someone new and having to share my space and tv with them.
17. There's always this one person who makes me smile through all of my bad moods, he texts me and I feel instantly better, like I can do anything because he believes in me!
18. My weakness is jewellery. I love quirky necklaces, I never spend much on them but I feel like with a quirky bit of silver tat my outfit is complete.
19. I love men with tattoos. To me tattoos are about art and telling a story on your skin. When you get a tattoo you design it l or have someone else design it but you know that that special piece of ink is yours your memory and nobody can take it from you.
20. To me my hair is my art, I'm not naturally creative when it comes to drawing or painting but with my hair I can do anything.
21. I'm also a lover of hairdye, if you follow my blog or my twitter you'll see I always change my hair. I like the fact that if I want pink hair tomorrow I have all the ingredients I need to paint my locks pink to make the boys wink.
22. I'm bisexual, I don't care if that freaks people out. Everyone has the right to be happy whether it be with the same sex or the opposite sex!
23. When I sleep at night I have to have my fan on, it's not that I need it to cool me down or anything it's just the noise, but I can't have any other background noise if the tv is on and I can hear it then I can't sleep!
24. I've lost four stone since my ex left me, it wasn't done the healthy way but I feel so much better and it's nice to have the extra attention from men!
25. In my bathroom I have about 5 different shampoos but I only stick to one hair mask and that is my macadamia nut one.
26. The number of lipsticks I own but I rarely wear them, impulse buyer!
27. My age
28. I always feel really confident and sexy when I have red hair. I have no idea why and I am not the only one who feels this way
29. I have a teddy that I've had since my first Christmas, I call her comfy bear.
30. Not looking forward to turning this age at all!
31. Seems to be the age of guys who I go for haha.
32. I am obsessed with hippos, I just find them so fascinating.
33. I like angel delight with bananas in the bottom!
34. I don't own enough pairs of shoes.
35. I don't have very many friends but the selected few that I have I am really close with and would do anything for.
36. I've been to Australia, Canada and America. I want to see the world and settle down with a hunky Canadian guy.
37. I live for chocolate spread sandwiches. They're just one of those things that I make when I can't really bothered to do anything and want a little chocolate fix.
38. I don't understand why people mix sweet and savoury together. Like pancakes with bacon, it's odd, good but odd.
39. I love to watch YouTube videos but its also so boring and everyone copies everyone else showing off, a bit like "oh look at what I got sent for free to review" or "I'm not bragging but look at my makeup collection that needs a whole room of its own"
40. I love the colour pink but all of my clothes are black so I never wear pink at all!
41. I own several thousand eyeliners!
42. Large groups of people scare me!
43. One of my fav films is Labyrinth, I like it because of the puppets and singing.
44. When I move out this house I will be picking up hairpins off of the floor for hours and pens because the cat gets her paws on them and they end up under the sofa and everywhere you can think of.
45. My favourite fruit is strawberry but I'm not a fan of strawberry flavoured things. I can't stand melon as a fruit but I love the taste when it's drinks.
46. The skin on peaches freak me out, it's hairy and horrible but I love the taste of peaches!
47. My hair grows so fast and it's awkward for my roots because they come through within days.
48. The age I feel today.
49. I love fancie cupcakes, if you live in Sheffield and haven't been then back away from this blog post (after you have finished reading it) and go get one. I command you haha.
50. This is going to have to be a good one... I have eczema on my eyelids and I have to be really careful about what I use on my lids because I used a bourjois eyeliner once and it actually burnt my lid and left a purple line for days :(

So that's me in a nutshell. If you've done one of these posts send me your links I would love to read them :)

Peace and love

Mondays mane - tickled pink

Hello my snowy lovelies,

I  hope you're all well and keeping warm on this snowy day.

Recently I've been missing my pink and blonde hair. I can't decide which colour I will go for but I have to bleach my hair to get this lilac out anyway so I think that I am going to do that before I have my hair cut and decide then.

Anyway I thought I would share a couple of pics of the hair that I am aiming for when I do decide if pink is my next step. We all know what I am like I will change my mind again because I am never happy with my hair.

I'm loving the baby pink locks and the ombre one.

What's your favourite hair colour at the moment?

Peace and love

Plum hair to lilac

Hello my loves,

I hope you're all well :)

A couple of weeks ago I decided to change my hair again, I was actually loving my pink hair but my roots were out of control and I decided that I needed yet another change. I bleached my roots which I really didn't need to do with this dye. My friend said I should go for plum hair and I thought ok cool that will be a nice change, I went into town the next day and picked up a tub of plum.

I'm not going to go on about this because I've reviewed directions in more detail before. On my hair this plum came out quite strange, it was quite bluey purple. On the pictures it looks more blueberry and on my roots because obviously I bleached them it looks pinky purple. On the instructions it says to leave it for 15 minutes but I  always leave them on  for a bit longer and it ended up being about an hour on my head. I think in future I will probably leave them for the time stated and see if that makes a difference. Also, just because this turned out this way on my hair doesn't mean it will look the same on everyone else's hair.

When I dyed my hair with rubine it did stain my skin but I found it didn't stain my clothes or my pillow, with this one it has stained pretty much everything I wear and my pillow. My hands are stained and so are my nails. On some of the reviews I have seen about Manic Panic dyes they don't stain as much, so maybe I will try a manic panic dye, the only problem with this is they're twice the price. Also, just with this dye I looked in the mirror once I had washed it off my hair and my face was actually purple because it had come into contact with my face.

I'm not going to lie here, I do not like this dye at all. I set out to remove it with the vitamin c trick that I talked in my last post, you can read that here. I attempted three times to remove it and it just wasn't working, yes it did get lighter but it wasn't light enough for me to do anything with or put anything over. I had a box of Colour b4 in my draw so I thought I would give that a go and the result was much better, the colour before didn't remove it completely but I am much happier with the result if I am honest. It's really hard to put my finger on what colour it is because it's quite unique, In some lights it's very lilac, in others it's quite silvery blue.

I'm sorry about the picture quality it's hard taking good pictures in winter. I am so much happier now it's lighter, I do think I am going to mix some plum in with conditioner and see what happens because my hair is a bit of a rainbow at the moment.
